Application of needle valve hot runner system

The valve hot runner is a hot runner system that is widely used by major international hot runner suppliers. This system opens or closes the gate by mechanical movement at a predetermined time by the use of a valve needle under the action of the needle control device.


This type of hot runner system has many advantages that are not available with hot tip and cast runner systems. If the gate switching time can be controlled artificially, the gate is smooth and flat, and the technical field of hot runner technology can be expanded.


First, valve-type hot runners are widely used in many fields such as automobile manufacturing, medical, electronics, and office equipment.


For example, in recent years, major automobile companies in the world have adopted valve-type hot runners, combined with multi-color co-injection processes in the mold to produce the overall lampshade. Since the lampshade is a transparent product, the gate must be smooth and flat to meet the aesthetic requirements. This can only be achieved with a valve gate hot runner. Other automotive parts require spray coloring after forming. If there are injection molding fused lines on these parts, the color of the parts after coloring will be different and the quality requirements will not be met. To avoid this type of problem, many automotive parts suppliers use a production process based on a needle-valve hot runner sequential switch gate to completely eliminate the weld line on the part. (That is, using a timing controller) In the medical field, the quality of the gates for medical plastic parts is extremely strict, and there is no need for sharp protrusions. Otherwise, if the skin is stabbed and damaged during use, the consequences are serious. In this case, only the valve gate runner system is used to improve the quality of the product gate.

The hydraulic needle method is effective and accurate. However, it is possible to soil plastic parts during the production process. Therefore, in the production of medical plastic products, it must be produced by compressed gas control methods to ensure the cleaning of the products. In addition, the use of the valve needle control device increases the height of the mold set and the overall mold. Consideration should be given to mold design and injection molding machine selection. A cooling water channel is also required on the formwork on which the valve needle control unit is mounted.


  Precautions:


Needle-valve hot runners have the same application requirements as hot-tip and cast-in-place hot runner systems. If the temperature control of the valve gate is not good, it will cause serious production difficulties. For example, if the temperature at the gate is too high, the plastic may stick to the valve needle when the mold is opened. Conversely, if the temperature at the gate is too low, the gate plastic is too cold, making it difficult to close the valve needle. Valve gate hot runner molds are more expensive than hot tip and cast sleeve hot runner molds. If the valve-type hot runner system and the valve needle control device are not designed and manufactured well, problems such as a flow dead angle after the valve needle or a flashing phenomenon on the sliding mating surface between the valve needle and other parts may occur. In addition, if the valve needle is not made well, the closing operation is improperly controlled, and there are serious consequences of damaging the gate. Therefore, the valve hot runner system has many advantages that are not available in the other two types of hot runner systems, but also increases the complexity of the mold.
