Hot runner mold application market has great potential

Compared with ordinary runner molds, Chinese hot runner molds have the advantages of time saving, material saving, labor saving and product quality improvement. In Europe and the United States, more than 50% of the molds produced by plastic mold factories use hot runner technology, and some even reach more than 80%. At present, hot runners have been used in production in China, but the total is less than 10%. This gap is quite huge. Moreover, even companies that use hot runner technology have many shortcomings in application, which makes them unable to play their biggest role and hinder the improvement of production efficiency.


For enterprises, although the use of hot runners will increase the cost of mold cost by about 15% to 20%, in terms of long-term benefits, the benefits of using hot runners are far greater than the impact of increased costs, and their potential in China. The application market is still very large.


Among them, the injection molding technology of large parts has attracted more and more attention. In response to this demand, Thermoplay has successfully developed a new hot runner system. It can be used for large part forming, such as bumpers, spoilers and luggage racks in car and truck automata, as well as many home electrical components and packaging trays. In these applications, sequential controlled injections enhance the aesthetics of the molded part and improve mechanical properties, primarily because the water line is controlled during plastic injection molding. At the time of application, a larger length of hot nozzle is usually required to compensate for the effects of hot runner expansion. The new system mounts the hot nozzle and valve assembly to the flow channel plate, and the mounting angle can be arbitrarily chosen. This ensures good verticality during the injection process. An innovative JOINT design is spread synchronously on the flow path plate, allowing it to be used on systems with two water inlets. This new generation of valve needle system is also equipped with built-in safety protection device in the system. When the valve needle moves forward and backward and the machine fails, the signal connected to the injection molding machine receives the information, can make corresponding alarm and stop, reduce damage and Protect the normal operation of the system. In addition, this new generation of valve needle system does not require heating when installed in the mold, and can be self-aligned to the center and position of the water inlet point. The standard length of this new series of hot nozzles is 76~800mm.
